Hook is for road riders who value aerodynamic gains and mostly ride on smoother roads. If you plan to run high pressure, then a hooked/clincher rim is a safe bet.

Hookless is for those who are running wider tires, lower pressures, or are riding on rougher roads. You will benefit from a more comfortable ride due to the higher volume and increased impact protection. Gravel riders and cyclocross riders are often in this situation.

Center Channel Hole This is a required option.

With Access Holes: This is the traditional method. Spoke access holes are drilled in the center channel to allow the nipples to easily be fed through the rim. Tubeless tape is required to seal the rim.

No Access Holes: No spoke access holes are drilled in the center channel. Feeding the nipples through the rim is more challenging, but it allows for a tubeless setup without the need for tape. This kind of system is known as "road tubeless" and was made popular by Mavic. Some companies still refer to it as "UST style", however, UST is actually a specific interface between the tire and rim which was developed by a partnership between Mavic, Michelin, and Hutchinson.

Currently, rims with 'No Access Holes' do not work with our carbon spokes.

Drain Hole This is a required option.

The two small drain holes located 90° to the valve hole effectively help evacuate both the water trapped inside the rim and the air leaking into the rim chamber caused by nonperfect tubeless tape sealing handwork that may risk rim explosure in an aggressive tire inflating.

It is the small reinforced layer prelaminated on the area where the drain hole is drilled later that makes the rim strength fairly ensured without any compromise of weight added.

Riders who ride in wet areas are suggested to order rims with drain holes.

Please note: Contrary to rims with any coated/painted finishes (matte, glossy and satin) as well as Crystal Painting, laser engraving could work with paintless rims only.

2. Full Custom - Add some additional personalization and go full custom with your rim graphics! Laser engraving is available in one colour (light grey) and starts at $5 USD per rim. If you select this option, LEAVE YOUR REQUEST IN QUOTES IN THE NOTES AT CHECKOUT. For example: "I need my personalized logo printed" or "Just text 'ABC racing' ". We use a lightweight black alloy anodized valves with an oversized concave collar for easy gripping. A rubber o-ring goes in between the rim and the collar to help seal the rim and match the contour of the rim profile. The valve core is removable so you can add sealant without removing your tire.

Tom : I wanted to upgrade my Pivot Vault with a really nice set of gravel wheels for ultra races and just having fun. When I saw a picture of a pair of crystal green painted rims I fell in love and despite my bike not having any green on it whatsoever, I just had to have them! So I ordered a pair of wavy WR40 rims (hooked with no spoke holes) built onto DT240 hubs with CX-Ray spokes and red alloy nipples. I also ordered a 3rd rim so I could get my existing SON 18 dynamo hub built up at home. Now I've been using the wheels for over 6 months now in all kinds of conditions and they're amazing! Having no spoke holes means no rim tape needed and this is a game changer for tubeless, I've barely had to pump up the tyres since I first set them up!

Hello, I'm french, bad english speaker so chat-gpt , helps me with this: I have a Shutter Precision PL7 dynamo hub with 28 holes in my garage, and I’m considering mounting it on one of your WR40 rims. I have a few questions about this: - I’m a fan of unperforated rims (for better tubeless sealing without tape). How is the spoke nipple installation done manually in this case? Are specific tools required? - I am also considering your Turbo 40D rim. My intended use is long-distance riding (road and gravel), and I weigh 85 kg without the bike (9 kg titanium). What would you recommend? If you think the Turbo 40D is better suited, could you provide it with 28 holes? Would this compromise the rim’s durability? - I plan to use CX-Ray spokes in a three-cross pattern. Could you tell me the appropriate spoke lengths and the type of nipples to choose?

Hi Maxime, Hi Maxime, Thanks for reaching out. - We usually assemble the wheels 700C without access holes by magnets and our own homemade tools (the threaded part of the spoke and the nipple combination). Please refer to the attachment. - The WR40 is suitable for long rides and can also do 28 holes. I suggest you ride the standard version. The Turbo 40 is not available in 28 holes. - Could you please provide the hub size? I'll calculate the spoke length for you. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Weight Style: Standard, Flyweight, Ultra-Light, Heavy Duty, HD+ I have a friend who weighs less than 150 pounds or ~68kg and cracked a pair of flyweight rims. I weigh 175 pounds or ~80kg and am concerned about the durability and reliability of these rims. What would you recommend for a gravel specific application?

Hi Eli, Thanks for reaching out! Weave options are mostly cosmetic options. The internal fibers are all UD fibers because they are the strongest fiber among them. I would recommend UD fibers as they look very neat and slightly lighter and stronger. About weight customization options. our recommendation for flyweight rims normally lies in the 90kg (on flat) limit. But riding conditions and style should also be accounted for. Assuming you are talking about WR40 rims. If you ride on rough gravel, flyweight rims are only recommended for the front wheel. Also, what's the tire and tire pressure your friend uses? What was the scenario when the crack occurred? So, if you are considering building a gravel wheelset. Can you share more about your riding style, conditions, and tire setup? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hello, i am currently considering buying a pair of Falcon pro WR40 rims. Assuming I go with the hooked version, without access hole, would I need to tape the rims in order to have tubeless road tires to seat properly, or can I use them without tape? I am considering using them with Michelin Power Cup in 700x30 mm, tubeless, if that matters.

Hi, I have a pair of WR40 (hookless, paintless, UD, laser engraved logo) custom built with 28L / DT 240 / Aerolite from my local wheel builder. The wheels look great, very stiff, perfect for tubeless gravel riding.m Highly recommended! Recently another cyclist ran into me, his front tire was rubbing on my fancy rims :(. The rim is undamaged, wheel barely out of true. There are some strips where the surface is now matte instead of glossy. It’s a purely cosmetic issue, the marks can be seen depending on the viewing angle, but cannot be felt with the fingertip. Do you have some advice how to polish the rim to restore the glossy look? PS: The surface/finish your rim is very sturdy, given the tire grinding with road dirt in between not even causing a groove.
